Flapping Ferruginous

I continue to go out hunting the stunning ferruginous hawks that are only around here for a while before migrating out. Here’s one I got taking off from the ground which I don’t typically see. No prey involved, just hanging out.

Awesome image, Dave. I think the crop works nicely. Plenty of room for the hawk to fly into. The wing and tail spread are terrific.

I’m on my own mission to improve my birds in flight skill. Your image is an inspiration for me to work even harder at that.

Dave, a truly wonderful in-flight take of this hawk. The angle of view with the hawks undercarriage as it were and the extended wings & winglets? is truly excellent… :sunglasses:

I really like the angle and wing position, Dave. I do think a touch off the bottom and a bit more room on the left would make this excellent image even better.
