A female Mallard Duck, doing the bird bath thing. I was shooting at 1/2000 and was quite surprised that it stopped the action so well. Usually that’s not enough shutter speed for ducks. I was shooting continuous shots at the fast setting and many of the shots have motion blur. This particular shot must have fired at just the right moment when the action was minimal.

Enjoyably splash action. Well exposed with excellent color in bright light.
Gary, the splashes, filling the frame, are outstanding. The duck shows nicely as well. Another great action shot. As I see when shooting dragonflies in flight, there are time when 1/2000 or 1/2500 stops all of the action and other times when it only stops most of the action.
