Description:
FogIndex is a fog prediction and alert service built for landscape and nature photographers. It answers a simple question: “Will there be beautiful, photogenic fog tomorrow morning?”
Most weather services only warn about dangerous fog (highway advisories, airport delays). FogIndex does the opposite — it looks for the kind of soft, cinematic valley and river fog that photographers dream about, and scores each morning on a 0–100 scale.
What it does for photographers:

Replaces the guesswork. Instead of manually checking five different weather apps, interpreting dew points, wind speeds, and cloud cover yourself, FogIndex does that analysis for you automatically.

Sends proactive alerts. When conditions line up for a high-probability fog event near sunrise, it sends you an email so you can set your alarm and get to your spot in time.

Daily digest. Each evening you get a summary of the next couple of mornings so you can plan ahead.

Location-based. You save the specific locations you like to shoot (a river bend, a mountain overlook, a valley) and FogIndex monitors each one individually.

Learns from feedback. After an alert, it asks “Did fog actually show up?” and uses your answers to get smarter over time.
In short, it’s a “set it and forget it” system — you tell it where you like to shoot, and it wakes you up only when it’s worth getting out of bed for.
