Foggy Reflection Lake

Image(s)

Image Description

I had booked 5 nights in a RV park near Mt. Rainier National Park in hopes of getting lots of nice photos around the park. Little did I know that mid Sept. was the start of the rainy/foggy season in Rainier. This is Reflection Lake where many people get great reflections of the mountain. The only reflections I got were the trees on the opposite shore.

Pertinent Technical Details

This is one of my trademark focus stacked/stitched panoramas. It is made up of 111 focus bracketed shoots. Shot with Canon R5, RF100-400mm F5.6-8 IS USM lens at 100mm, f/13. /60th sec., ISO 100. Original full sized image is 566 megapixels, 18,189 x 31,148 pixels, 60" x 103" @ 300PPI. Focus stacking was done using Helicon Focus Pro and stitching with PTGui.

John, the trees, the lake and the reflection are very inviting. I do think that leaving most of the grey sky out would be an improvement, but don’t know how that fits into creating a wall mural. The details in the trees are great, even at NPN sizes.
