Fragile Forktail

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

Fill flash works very well when used for macro work. I used two Nikon SB-R200 close-up flashes with controller for a small amount of diffused fill. This serves to enhance the subject slightly and produces some very soft highlights which gives a more 3D view of the insect.

Specific Feedback

Very good, Jim. It does work very well. I like the composition and the detail in the smaller features of the forktail are awesome.

Jim: Masterful use of your lighting setup and a terrific capture. I love seeing the fine facial details on damselflies and dragonflies and you nailed it. Pretty good perch and a fine BG as well. :+1: :+1:>=))>

Oh wow, just when I thought it couldn’t get any better with your previous damselfly, here is one even better! Well done, Jim. :+1: :+1:
