I recently had the good fortune to get this shot at a nearby wildlife refuge on a calm, evening near sunset.

Specific Feedback Requested

How about the cropping placement, top to bottom. I thought the centered subject worked the best. Yeah?

Is this a composite: No
D500, Nikon 200-500 lens, Nikon 1.4 TC, 1/1600th, f 8.0, 490mm, ISO 900, hand held, AI Clear, cropped to 2719 x 2056. I got rid of a few buggers that were floating in the frame.

Hi Dave, excellent capture. I really like the soft light and smooth reflection. I’m glad you posted this. I am going back and reprocessing my avian photos and mis-identified a couple of my shots as female Cinnamon Teal…but they were Gadwalls. So, thanks! :slight_smile:

Great shot of a Gadwall. The reflection, especially of the top feathers, is excellent. Looks like a good one for a duck stamp.
