I think the background is a little busy. Any other thoughts?

All I can say is yikes. Dangerous perch there. The background is a bit busy, but you could probably reduce that with some blur in PS…Great pose on the bird.
Excellent shot of the scrub jay, David and I like the diagonal perch. I think you could blur the background a bit more relatively easily.
Here’s a quick modification. I selected the bird and wire and put them on another layer, then cloned over those areas on the background layer and used a field blur on it until it looked like I wanted.
