Ghost pipes

Image Description

Was intrigued by these white flowers in the dark forest floor. I thought there were some type of mushrooms. However they are a parasitic plant without chlorophyll that feeds off nutrients of nutrients collected by fungi. I took some close-ups but like this image showing a hint of the forest in the soft background

Feedback Requests

Any feedback welcome. Does the one yellow leaf on the right add or detract from the image?

A lovely image of one of my favorite plants in the understory.

My favorite wildflower- what a glorious bunch of them you found. They are nicely separated and that’s so hard with these guys - I almost never get them so on their own. The light looks good and I like the rest of the forest you’ve included, something I often forget to do. The yellow leaf is a bit incongruous with the rest of the shades of brown and green that make the white flowers stand out so well. You could darken it or disappear it altogether pretty easily if you wanted. Super find and definitely brought a smile to my face.

While in my wild imagination the yellow looks like an out-of-focus bunny, I agree with @Kris_Smith that it does stand out a bit.

Bryan: Love the POV and the subject and comp. I would definitely make the yellow leaf go away or be significantly subdued due to its brightness and position in the frame. Other than that this is a terrific find and a fine image.>=))>

I agree but at first smiled thinking the pipes were looking down at the leaf. Ya know?!

Thank you for the feedback. I may try different process to reduce the yellow.
@Kris_Smith, @Bill_Fach, @Jim_Gavin, and @JohnSnell thank you for the kind feedback and encouragement.

Bryan, you found an outstanding collection of Ghost Pipes (often called Indian Pipes in the southern parts of NA…). I really like your POV and comp. with the oof foreground and light in the forest behind. The yellow leaf adds some balance on the right, but I suspect that this would look good without that leaf also.
