Hi Sandy, nice view of this guy. I’ve never heard of this bird so this is a real treat to see. The pose gives us a good view of the long neck and tail. I like the curvy perch and the flowers in the foreground and BG add another point of interest. The stem of the flowers/leaves on the right seem to blur right into the lower BG there - was this natural or did you blur them into the BG? Just wondering. A fine image.
Interesting bird – wonderful detail and light, with a lovely but subdued BG. Interesting the way he spans the space between the two clumps of flowers. He looks quite uncertain, as though maybe he’d really like to bug out.
My kind of bird image. Even without the bird, the scene would be quite attractive. I like the composition with the bird between the flowering parts of the branch. A pleasing background and fine detail in the bird. Well done.
This is sweet, Sandy. I’ve never caught one of these on a decorative perch like this. Excellent composition and I love the perch and background. Did you clone out part of the flower clump on the right? It doesn’t look like it’s attached to the perch branch and the plant is usually described as a shrub or small tree while the perch looks like a vine. It just looks a bit odd to my eye.
Hi Sandy, been a long time. Hope you’re doing well.
Very cool looking bird, never seen one before. Love the perch and the flowers framing the bird. I do wish the flowers o the right were in focus also, but I don’t know if you could have stopped down enough to encompass them. Still great framing on the bird! Great work!

Hey,Kurt! Great to “see” you! We are doing great here; hope u are too. Thanks for the kind comments - these things are never still, so this was a quick shot with the settings I had, just as she was walking down the vine.
I was happy to get anything!
