Great Blue Heron in Molt

It wasn’t that he was in molt that first drew my attention to this GBH, it was that he was the fattest GBH I’d ever seen. He must have been a fabulous hunter.

Hi Chris
This Blue does look like he has that Thanksgiving after dinner glow. The sun really works for the eyes and feather detail and the low angle is great. I think you might try reducing the neck shadow some.

Very good detail and depth of field, Chris. It does look rather plump. The out of focus grasses in the top f the frame look a bit noisy to my eye. I usually handle that with a few passes with the blur brush.
