This image is from a wetland near Charleston, South Carolina. It was an overcast day and eventually rained. But not before I got a variety of images of several different species of birds. Sure hope you leave me your thoughts

I like the pose and it shows off the plumage nicely. If it would take a larger crop, I could see cropping just to the right of the branches. If this were mine, I’d remove the white spots

I would agree with Allen on this one. The exposure and detail are fine. The rain looks too static.

A really great pose and beautiful plumage, Jim. It looks like your exposure was right on. A rather messy background and a difficult one to do much with, but I think the brightness of the egret is enough to overcome that. The rain is well shown.

I love the setting, the pose of the egret, and the raindrops. I also like the comp. My only critique is that I wish there were fewer branches in the foreground.

Hi Jim,
I like the pose of the bird and drops of rain. Don’t have much to add critique-wise other than saying I really like the green on the bird’s head. I do wish the branches did not intersect the beak.

I love the pose you’ve captured here and I think the inclusion of the raindrops tells the story well. I believe a slight crop from the top would help, and removing those bright branches in the upper left corner.

I like this shot very much, pose, environment with the raindrops and all. Yes!
