Great Egret

Repost with a bit more room at the top and bottom:

Great Egret (Ardea alba), Ridgefield Wildlife Refuge, Ridgefield, Washington, USA

Taken before sunrise. Decided to leave it dark for the mood.

Very nice! The reflection is very nice and I love the detail in the whites. A little more room top and bottom would work for me.

I like this one, David. The bright whites in these birds are always difficult to expose and process correctly. You handled it well.

Wonderful light and contrast. Superb job on the plumage exposure. Well processed at higher ISO.

I like the dark environment. Nicely composed and good detail.

Thank you, @Diane_Miller, @terryb, @David_Schoen, and @Allen_Brooks for your kind comments, Diane, I posted a rework above with a bit more head/foot room. Can’t go too much more on the top without getting a large tree trunk in the scene…

Excellent job, David. The bit of extra room in the repost makes a huge difference. Well done.

Hi David
I guess I am the only one who like the first post. I did take it into DXO and increase the exposure some. I thought it look a little dark. I Hope you like it.
