Oh! How gorgeous are these cuties. I love how they’re cradled by the tree in a rather flimsy looking nest. The little guy in the background is the icing on the cake.
Allen, I know nothing of the colouring of these birds, so perhaps, I should keep my thoughts to myself. Anyway, I feel the colour is a little off. Maybe a bit too green/yellow?
Thanks for the comment Glenys. I have already selectively reduced the greenish cast a good bit on the birds thinking it was from the surrounding foliage. I will be going out there again this morning and will give the color another look. The chicks seem to more of grayish to match the tree trunks rather than brown like the adults.
This is a very appealing shot, Allen. The chicks are cute. I like the way their plumage blends into the surrounding trees.
Initially I liked the color but I think Glenys is right.
The backlighting doesn’t bother me. It wouldn’t hurt to brighten the rear bird just a bit. Nothing is happening in the top third of the photo. You might consider cropping some off the top and the right.
This is a lovely shot of the two owlets, Allen. That’s a beautiful nest site which should continue to offer some great opportunities for a bit longer. I like the interpretation that @Preston_Birdwell came up with.
I missed this earlier but have to add my cheers for a great capture! And the RP is just the right touch. It’s so frustratingly difficult to see color casts. Hope we get to see these guys grow up!
Both ‘takes’ are great. Personally I prefer the more grey toned shot. And I agree with Preseton’s comment that one day I will eat you! My how mighty this small one can be in back of her mama! Awesome capture.
