Found a cooperative heron at the neighborhood lake yesterday afternoon in overcast conditions.

Great close look at the heron. Excellent detail and the water contrasts nicely with the heron. For me it seems a bit tight in the frame, maybe add a bit of canvas on the left?
Nice detail and good color on the bird. The streaked water background adds a lot to the image IMO.
Spectacular shot, Allen. I love the pose he is giving you, and the log he is on, the oof water in the background, everything. The details are really great.
It’s great to have these little guys cooperate occasionally. The detail and soft lighting are wonderful, and that characteristic crouching posture is a bonus. Maybe more room on the left would be nice, but I know all too well that’s a given with fixed focal length.
