Green Iguana

Image Description

as a child, I always had a thing for dinosaurs. And I would have to say I don’t know many baby boomers who didn’t. I was fortunate to be able to see so many dinosaur skeletons and dioramas and things at the museum in New York and other places. So one day I’m driving home from work and out of the corner of my eye I see an iguana just out there in the gas station. probably an escapee from someone’s home and that may have been on purpose. Anyway, I picked it up and brought it home and we put it in the largest aquarium I could manage to handle. We kept it for a few months until it got too big to handle. They grow fast. Until I got to Costa Rica, I had never seen an iguana in the wild. So here they are and the main photo that I’ve been submitting is the large green first image. But I’m including a second image just to show their habitat and a particular tree with multiple critters.

Pertinent Technical Details

I’ll keep looking for but technical details but I am unable to locate them right now

Great capture and I love the story behind the image. The eye is tack sharp and he appears to be looking right at the photographer, well done. Also, the texture on the iguana is very nicely captured. I have two minor suggestions. First, I would remove the stem that passes in the background by his nose. Second, I would want more negative space in the direction he is facing.

I think I finally got the repost right. I had a lot of problems with the tools, especially some of the newer tools. They sure don’t work like they tell you they’re going to. Anyway, Mr. DeGroot, let me know what you think of the improvement.

I think this is an overall better composition.
