I know this isn’t technically a swamp, but that sounds better as a title,LOL. Seriously though, does anyone know the accurate title for this type of wetland? There’s no body of water nearby so I’m thinking it must be fed from underground source.
Second and more importantly, does this image have any appeal to anyone?

Personally, I would title this one “Autumn in the Bog”. I’m assuming this is from Acadia, which is known for it’s peat bogs, also called peatlands. But bog works for me ( bog sounds better than swamp, which is not giving this scene enough credit). This image works fine for me, it has an interesting mix of colors, patterns and textures. I like how the darker areas zig-zag their way through the yellow as they lead the eye to the dead trees. This is a very pleasing image, and a different take on fall color. Nicely done.
My only nit would be to clone away the two fallen trees on the right edge, they are eye magnets.
Love this - right up my alley. Simple and intimate; simple because there are just basically 3 elements and 2 primary colors (well, gray is a color too I guess…)
I especially like the zig-zag of the “bog” (I wouldn’t know what to call it) and glad you’ve given it just a little bit more than 50%.
My only wish would be for a little more of that vegetation along the bottom, left edge. It’s still a great entry point for the viewer there, but feels ever so slightly cut off. Minor, but you could burn down the orange-brown plants on the lower edge as well - just a smidge.

As you know this does appeal to me as we both decided to shoot this scene. It may not be the colorful postcard autumn image that everyone wants to view, but this is so much more interesting IMO. This is more of a serene image with the muted yellows of the bushes and the greys and greens of the BG trees. Of course the zig-zag with the water works beautifully. The details and textures really shine in the large version. I only wish I had thought to include more of the FG in mine.
