The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.
Description
Even if it’s only eight, give it what you’ve got! Shot earlier this summer. I’m trying to weed out too much stuff and decided I’d better post this one before it gets relegated to the swamp of the RAID drive.
Specific Feedback
All comments welcome!
Technical Details
A little global tonal stuff in LR then into PS for denoise and a crop from horizontal. Cloned out part of the feeder.

Diane, Your F13 did the trick to get the tail in perfect focus. Great pose, head-turn, and BG. I KNOW you’re paying your birds for these excellent poses…
Thanks, @Dennis_Plank, @Ed_Williams, @SandyR-B, @Allen_Brooks and @Mike_Friel! Mike, it’s an Acorn Woodpecker. I’ve seen Downys in town at at several parks in the “lowlands” but out here is the hills the Acorns seem to have chased the others away. A couple of years ago we had a Nuttall’s pair, but I didn’t see them this year.
Nifty pose. We have a birdbath saucer thing on our deck and most of the time the acorns will hang on the edge like this as they drink. Flickers and other woodpeckers don’t. Only the acorns. I guess old habits die hard for them…
You caught the clownish side of woodpeckers totally. Such a fun pose and all the technicals are spot on. I love the energy and the implied mischievousness here. You can see the wheels spinning here…craftiness and problem solving. Fab.
