Hi there!

A Dagga Boy (Old solitary African Buffalo) has a visitor. I was happy for my 800 mm, as these guys are extremely bad-tempered and dangerous, and I was on foot

Great capture, Jaapv. I think you should let out a yell to wake him up so that his nose isn’t pressed into the ground and partly hidden by the grass! Just kidding!!! It would have been nice to have seen the bottom part of his face, but it appears natural since he was taking a nap, and not even disturbed by the visitor.

LOL. I preferred to live. As it is, you can see that he is well aware of my presence.

He doesn’t look too dangerous in this pose, Jaapv, but I’d bet he could get moving very fast if suitably motivated. I love the sleeping pose and the Cattle Egret adds tremendously to the image. Great job handling the high dynamic range in this image.

Love the angle of light and the low angle. Composition feels a little tight, but this works. Not sure if the grass stem in front of the cattle egret could be removed?

It easily could, but I am from the “don’t manipulate” school
