Hiding

Finally the lizards (Green Anole), butterflies and bees are beginning to re-emerge. Found this little fellow hiding under a succulent.

I wanted the lizard to be the focal point so left the sunlight on him and burned much of the surrounding foliage. Does the lighting work? Used f/5.6 aperture since it was, originally, a gray day. Then of course the sun popped out. Does the lizard have enough detail? I’m wondering how others might have metered in a situation such as this?
Other thoughts, suggestion are always welcome. Thanks.

Linda, what a find and what a shot. Yes, you have nice details in the lizard, especially his eye. I like the way he is framed in the succulent. The lighting works fine for me. Well done!

Ha! What a nice find and shot, to echo Shirley. I think the lizard is nicely displayed, and the remainder of the image is just fine. I really like this.

I like this one! The lizard has enough detail for the chosen presentation, and it is nicely framed by the leaves. I tried a little bit tighter crop.

Thanks, @Ola_Jovall, for your kind thoughts. I do like how you have tighten the image.

Yes, this one looks good as presented and the tighter crop gives it a macro feel to the image. Focus and lighting are perfect. Well done.

Thanks, Jim. Appreciate your kind thoughts.
