Description

A pair of Currawongs sorting each other out. They completely caught me out. We were sitting quietly around the campsite after a long day out when the currawongs decided to visit. Proabably looking for handouts. One minute they were having a lovely conversation and next they were at it. I have quite a few in the series, but because of my slow reaction I have; too slow shutter, too high off the ground and missing heads.

Been there, screwed up a few thousand times, Glennie. At least you got this shot out of it and it’s a beauty. Detail in the blacks is very good and they don’t look washed out. I particularly like the dirt and debris on the plumage which really tells the story of the conflict even more than the interlocked beaks. Very well done.

Well this is a keeper for sure, Glenys. Real nice deep blacks and eyes are so brilliant., hard to turn away. Love it when I get a close look with a long lens.Thought it might be a copulation scene.

Very cool! No issues for me about the angle you shot from – looks like you needed to be invisible at a time like this, and this shows the environment nicely. Wonderful detail!!

This looks great, Glennie. I too like the dirt on their feathers and especially how strongly those yellow eyes stand out. A fine action shot.

Good of you to get at least a few keepers in the series. I think we’ve all been there before. Suddenly something happens, you certainly don’t have time to look through all of your settings before picking the camera up and firing off shots. This particular frame is great because you have eyes on both subjects, you can feel the intensity between the two and the blacks look terrific. Good of you to get down relatively low to grab the shot also. No recommendations from me.

I’m happy with one keeper out of a sequence, Glenys, and this is a definite keeper. Nice low POV, great detail and interaction and I like the little bits of dirt flying up from their scuffle.

Very nice Glenys. Shows the scuffle quite well and really tells a story. Nice details. Great that you were able to catch this surprise encounter.
