Image Description
The forest road to the main trailhead in this area is rough, but ultimately rewarding. On this day, I was accompanied by others, which limited the time available for composing my shots. Nonetheless, upon reviewing my images at home, I was pleased with this photograph and decided it would be worthwhile to share here. Additionally, it has been some time since I last contributed an image to NPN.

Chris, this is indeed a very inviting scene. I’m especially attracted to the green tones in the lake. The brightness of the foreground lets it dominate the view which has me wondering how slightly desaturating the yellows and dodging that interesting reddish mountain would look.

It always amazes me how life can gain a foothold in seemingly desolate environments. The flowers are a nice touch. The greens in the plants look a tad oversaturated, but the yellow flowers look fine. If you decide to dodge the reddish mountain, be judicious so it doesn’t look flat.
I don’t know if it’s possible but cloning that contrail above the crags on the right side would be nice.
This is a nice image, Chris, and it’s good to see back at NPN!

Much appreciated, Mark. I agree with your comment, the red layers in the mountain deserve more attention. They are so cool. I need to work on layering scenes better.
These are all great ideas, Preston that I will work on. I appreciate the input I receive on NPN. I need to use it more frequently. I also need to get out and shoot regularly. The old desk job has been keeping me occupied. Heading out with the camera is so much more fun. Have a nice rest of your week!
Well past the Golden Hour, and you made the most of it with a thoughtful composition and perfect exposure!
