Hot springs colors

An overcast sky shows subtle colors at their most saturated. The colors in the Yellowstone hot springs relate to bacteria and algae growing at modestly different water temperatures. While the blue tones in this view could be seen on a sunny day, the greens and browns in this area of Mammoth were overwhelmed when the sun was shining. It seems the flat light is really good for abstract shots like this one. I really like the variety of colors you see in this image. I almost feel that you don’t need the area around the UR corner, Mark. But it does give a lot of context to what I am seeing.

I am really enjoying the colors in this hot spring, Mark. The overcast sky was perfect for this shot. A delight to view. :+1: :+1:
