I took this picture for one of my neighbors who looks after a small cat colony. Luckily for the cats, the place is beautiful and safe - on a hill, with woods and meadows, over a mile from the closest paved road. This cat was curious but not quite trusting me and checked me out at a safe distance. It’s a simple image, but I like the expression of the cat - interested and neither friendly nor scared - and the colors.

Excellent detail in the tabby, Esme. I love how the color of the fur around the nose and ears matches the rusty metal in the foreground. I think you could crop a touch off the left side, but it’s certainly debatable. I do wish the dark gray bar in the upper right corner wasn’t there, but I don’t know if you could get an angle without it.
