The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

Our camera club had an outing to a “Living History” replica of an 1850’s Hudson Bay Company fort that operated in our area until about that time. This was the fort cat and after petting it once, it followed me around for a bit asking for more.

Specific Feedback

I’m not sure I really captured the beauty of this cat’s coat. It looks black at first glance, but then the deep red/brown highlights start showing through and it’s utterly gorgeous. I don’t think I was successful in getting the highlights to look right and keeping the general look black.

Cats definitely recognize a cat person at first sight. I’m well acquainted with the copper highlights of a longhair black cat, and you captured them here very well – they are subtle and show in the right light. I love this seated pose that looks so upper-class regal and corpulent – and then they stand up and morph into killing machines. Then go have a nice post-prandial nap.
