ID Help-Nome bird

This is far from the best image, but it’s the only one I got and is already a fairly substantial crop. It was taken outside of Nome on June 5th.

Thanks for any help.

My first thought was Yellow-rumped Warbler, because nothing else seems to fit the thin bill and legs. But I’ve been advised by a top birder who runs birding groups in Alaska each year that American Pipit should be considered.

So - what behavior did you observe? Did this bird walk around a lot?

Pale form of American pipit. Not the best diagnostic photo, but there’s enough there for me to provide a reasonable ID…Jim

Thanks, Rich and Jim. I was looking throjgh images from a couple of days later in the trip and found a better set of the same species. It does indeed look like American Pipit.
