The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.
Description
I followed this guy around for a while and took several shots. When I looked at them in PS I liked the BG on this one. Then I noticed the light to the Lt. and the light on his Lt. wing tip and liked it. I ran it thru Topaz for noise.
Specific Feedback
All help is wanted and in most cases needed. What can I do to improve.
Technical Details
EOS 5DSR, 70-200 mm, 200, ISO 400, f/11, 1/350sec
PS for brightness and contrast and Topaz for noise

John, he is a real beauty, and I like the way you captured him on the flower. To me it is a bit over saturated for my taste that doesn’t mean it is wrong. I also would prefer a bit more room at the top as it feels like the wing tips are close to the edge. I agree with @Bill_Fach about removing the blue spot as it doesn’t add to the image and is a bit of a distraction. I do like the black BG to make him and the flower stand out.
I’ll second removing the background spot, John. This is a beautiful image otherwise and while that spot is interesting, it distracts from the lovely composition of the flower and butterfly. It’s always hard to figure out what settings we want on the fly, especially when we’re busy chasing something, but I do think some more depth of field would make this fine image even better. I’ve never used that camera, but I used to push my old 7D2 to iso 2000 or even 2500 without noise that couldn’t be removed in today’s software.
I really like the position and the crop on this John. The vibrant colors are nice, a matter of taste for saturation levels. I agree with removing the light spot in the BG.

This is less Sat. and the spot is removed.
I really thank you all for the input. I’m learning PS and sometimes I do mess too much with the controls. LOL. I use a BENQ monitor and sometimes I need to re calibrate it as well. I like both shots.
THANKS again
