In the Under World

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

This photo is taken far below Arlanda airport in Sweden. They have dug a tunnel for the train, so this is the wall of that tunnel, taken from the platform. I have no idea what sort of mineral has crept thruogh the wall, but it does make some intersting patterns, I think.
And now I am curious if this is intersting only in my opinion, or if somebody else likes it.

Specific Feedback

Does this image intrigue anyone? Make you wonder what it is? Have I succeded with the editing and the crop?

I love it!! Very interesting patterns – it’s not easy (or even possible) to know if some of the lighter areas are mineral deposits or side lighting on raised areas. It looks like a mix of both, with the variation in the darker areas giving the same feeling. I love the subtle colors, too. We seen and presented!

Very intriguing. The natural instinct of humans to try to identify patterns in something more or less random makes this work for me, Annika. The color palette has a distinctly netherworld feel.

Thanks a lot Diane! I was really wondering if I am the only one intrigued by these patterns or not. And if I had managed to edit it in a way that made the most of it. I am so glad you like it!

Thanks alot Dennis! I am so glad that someone else likes my random patterns.

It definitely makes you wonder and think at first glance, which is great. I even imagined a drone shot of elephants splashing in water.

I think the slight touch of color gives it the appropriate amount of added flair too.

Thanks a lot Max. I tried it in bnw, but I also prefer the colored version. I have enhanced the colors a little to make them pop more. For good or bad? I thought it it added to the image.

Annika,

This caught my attention right away. It is a fascinating abstract photo. The texture is intriguing.
