The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.
Description
My first post here on the forum and I’ve chosen to share with you a memory of a beautiful morning that I spent down by the riverbank over this last weekend. I can easily lose myself in scenes like this.
Specific Feedback
Do I convey adequately a mood of self reflection? Does the image produce a sense of calm or agitation?
Technical Details
Shot at 120mm f4 1/100sec

Welcome Dewi! Thanks for posting in the Abstract channel. This is a wonderful abstract image! Yes the photo conveys calmness to me. I transports me to the times I explore edges of water and get lost in the cascading water. I can just hear the water now rushing over rocks.
I like the colors in your image as well. The yellows in particular really pop with the highlighted stones under the water. I’m not sure what the green item is other than a moss covered rock. I see you captured this at f4. If you wanted a bit more detail in the foreground, try using f16 and higher to get more of the scene in focus.
Thank you so much Alfredo for your feedback. Greatly appreciated.
This was shot hand held so while I wanted to maintain some detail in the water I didn’t want to freeze it by having a faster shutter speed but also didn’t want to lose some of the ethereal qualities that I was looking for. Hence the open aperture and I also remember cranking up the iso somewhat.
I really love abstracts and really look forward to seeing some cracking images here to give inspiration and encouragement.
Once again, thank you.
