Nature's Creation at Rest.

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

Another reminder to look in all directions when out and about. I was walking on a path near the Yakima River. I usually walk counter clockwise to put sun at back and to try not to surprise the birds and wildlife that live here. I decided to walk clockwise and noticed this scene which I have missed in the many times I’ve been there.

Specific Feedback

Does this belong in abstract? I probably should have tried to emphasize the green growth at the top of the head (antlers?) so it would stand out better. Any feedback appreciated.

Technical Details

Canon 7DMKII; Canon 100/400 II @ 100; 9.0; ISO1600; handheld; -2/3rds; spot; WB: daylight.

This is completely amazing!!! You found a wonderful composition, too, with lovely light and detail!

It’s obviously ephemeral, but have you been back in other lighting situations? It could be very cool with some fog to subdue the trees. But it is so dependent on the flowers it would be hard to catch it just right.

I’m sitting here starting my day with a huge smile!! Thanks for sharing it with me!

Diane, Thank you. We don’t get much fog around here when leaves and blooms are on. I am at that location fairly regularly so will check different conditions.
