What changed: As per some great recommendations I darkened the left side and did a little bit of a vignette. I tried cropping differently but ended up liking the original crop the best

We were in the Pantanal searching for wildlife. We went off the Cuiaba River into a tributary, Tres Irmaos. We saw some motion in the foliage with some obscured flashes of a jaguar. The cat disappeared and just as we were preparing to move on popped out at the water line of the river. He scanned a bit for prey and then silently slipped into the water.

Very cool! This is a nice image with great interaction between the subject and the viewer. I have been looking at your images fairly frequently and I must admit I’m a little jealous of all your travel.
I have thought about going to the Pantanal but unfortunately, that will have to wait for another life. I’m almost 78 and I have Parkinson’s.
The composition and feel is lovely. Great to have everything so sharp. The crop could be tighter but I like the one you have gone with.
The colours seem very natural , and the light is fine. It depends on how much you want the jaguar to stand out or whether your narrative wants to err on the side of natural and showing the camouflage.
I think I would darken the brighter areas on the left edge and manufacture a partial vignette- but only very gently.
