Joey: What a marvelous scene from the river to the mountains to the sky. Makes me want to go there. Out of curiosity, is the bridge part of the highway or another road? Whatever, I like its presence. Nicely seen and superbly captured. >=))>

Thank you! This was taken off of the Yukon Hwy. The bridge is the railroad trestle that runs from Skagway to places in the Yukon. (can’t remember exactly where). The railroad went in before the highway was built and originally came in around the gold rush time. But, of course, the current railway isn’t the same one.

Hi Joey,
This is an expansive view for sure with the rugged mountains and tree lined slopes! I like the diagonal placement of the river as it zigzags it’s way into the frame taking the viewer with it. The railroad trestle is another wonderful element in the scene. I do not know if it is possible, but I would try to tone down those sections in the clouds that appear to be blown as it does catch my eye somewhat. This brings back memories from a trip to Alaska many years ago.

Thank you. Great memories for sure. Thanks for the input on the clouds.

Joey, What a super travel image. In addition to the image, I applaud your travel opportunity. You have a dramatic grand landscape here with a lot going on, but the excellent composition holds my interest well. The visual flow of the river is a major element. In the sky, you seem to have a bright white area in the center that looks like the whites are clipped. I fixed this using the TK9 Plugin for Photoshop with separate adjustments for the sky and foreground. In the sky, I brought down the midtones, and highlights and then used the remove tool to paint over the bright white area in the sky’s center. I think you end up with a more dramatic sky without the clipping. Here’s the workflow.

Wow! Thanks. What a tutorial in addition to image enhancement.

Joey,

What a grand landscape! This is wonderfully composed with the river guiding the eye in to the frame. Everything is in nice balance, visual weight.

I would concur with Larry about the center cloud where detail is lost and appears a bit washed out. It’s not a huge deal, but large enough to be noticed. Many ways to deal with that including Larry’s helpful example. Much depends on what your personal limits are in cloning things out. Personally, I’m not in to “sky replacement” (which isn’t what Larry did, IMHO,) but I do think that section of clouds could be “adjusted”. YMMV…

Other than that, no nits or suggestions. Beautifully framed and captured.
