Juvenile Bald Eagle with Fish- British Columbia

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

Wanted to get Eagles looking right at me and catching a fish. We were in a small boat and the eagles were flying near us, but seldom directly straight on. I was fascinated by the variety of coloration and the facial expressions of the birds.

Wow! Killer image!
The stare is superb.
Personally, I’d move the eagle a little to the right to not cut off the tail, (which draws attention from the face IMO) and perhaps darken the head a bit to define it against the neck
Excellent shot!

Very cool image, Larry. The composition works for me and despite the “in-your-face” stare I find those enormous talons to be the focal point of this image. The difference in color and extreme detail in them just makes them pop from the rest of the image.

Hi Larry, great head-on view with the intense stare. Having a catch in the talons is a real bonus for the image. Composition works for me. Great catch.
