Kingfisher dives

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

I went to the local state park pond yesterday morning and found a very active belted kingfisher. He dove multiple times. The first four shots are of the same dive with subsequent dives shown after those images. Finally, a couple of landing shots.

Allen: thanks for posting this is a very enjoyable series.

These are wonderful, Allen. The last three images, particularly #7 with the Kingfisher just out of the water are just plain superb. That #7 would be cover material if there were still magazines. Instead, put it on the book you should be creating for the park.

Whow, a dream of series. As a lover of symmetry, #7 stands out for me, but only by a very small margin. Kingfishers in Belgium are of a different kind, but the challenge is set. I am actually trying to do this for some time. This series just boosts me. Thank you for that (and for the other pictures and pieces of advice as well), Allen.
