Laguna 69

Another shot from the Peruvian Andes. I’m thinking of clone stamping out the road. All thoughts, opinions and critiques are very much appreciated

Incredible image, Blake.

The touch of colour in the foreground really makes this one for me. Great composition and leading line as well. IMHO don’t think the roads really take away from the flow of the image and almost lead your eye towards those amazing peaks, but again, that always personal preference.

If you don’t mind me asking, did you blend the focus stack in PS or another program? The result is perfect!

Congrats on a magnificent shot!

Blake. For me this is a really great image. I’m a fan of the composition and the processing on it. I do think that a touch of colur in the foreground may bring it up a bit but am also wary that too much extra colour would detract the eye from the mountains which are amazing.

When I saw the words road in the caption it scared me  but they are not overbearing at all. Could almost be rivers if you hadn’t mentioned it.

Really ace work man!

Blake. Great shot. Composition looks great. I like the processing but to my eye the dark mid ground stalls my eye as it moves through the picture. I would love to see how it would look if you lightened up that area.
Keep images like this coming.

Blake,

I love the mood here. The dark-ish flowering plants at the bottom are quite fitting given the stormy sky above; it’s like the calm before the storm… it gets darker and then all heck breaks loose. I like this processed as presented to go along with the mood and atmosphere.

The road? nah, I’m with Eugene and I too think it blends in with the actual river that is present. I suppose you could clone the two curves adjacent to the flowers, but would leave the other that is next to the river. Not a big deal or image killer either way.

Hi @Blake_Randall amazing shot, this is the kind of image that inspires me to get the gear and go out. Gorgeous place, IMO I would like the foreground a bit (almost nothing) more exposed and as @John_Moses said that middle area too.
Also I would, maybe, clone out those yellow flowers on the right just to make the line of the flower on the foreground a bit more “continuous”.

Thanks for sharing.
Cheers,

Super looking shot Blake. You have to look close to even see if it is a road. Even then you aren’t to sure if it isn’t part of the stream, at least on this small screen. If you were to enlarge and print it then you may want to take it out as a distraction to the eye.

@ChrisNoronhaPhoto Thanks Chris, I just manually blended it from two shots in PS bc the mid ground was more or less in focus in both shots which made for an easy blend.

@Eugene_Theron @João_Ferrão @John_Moses Thanks guys, great feedback, I’ll play around with the luminosity a bit.

@Lon_Overacker @Greg_Stokesbury Thanks guys, I always appreciate your feedback :beers::beers:

Beautiful, great light and scene. The road does not bother me a bit. A fine view of the Andes.

Very dramatic light and clouds, Blake. Wonderful shot, I’ve never been to the Andes but this image puts me there. The road has some cool turns and curves it should stay and is not a distraction. I think the purple flowers are just right as an under tone for the scene with the highlighted snow fields and action in the clouds. They give a nice tonal balance leading up to the drama in the peaks. An awesome image.
