Lamar Bison Pasture

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

As the sun was going down, the hills lit up and the valley fell into shadows. I like this one because many of the bison are laying down peacefully in the green pasture.

Specific Feedback

Does the semi-pano look work in this? Thanks for looking and for any comments you wish to provide.

Technical Details

Canon 5DMiii, f5, 1/60 s, iso 100, 24-105 lens at 32 mm. Cropped small amounts off of the top and the bottom.

I really like the lightening in this, and its got a really interesting foreground, mid ground, and background. I am questioning if the bison in front are sharp though? Ideally I would like a few more clouds in the sky, but can’t control that.

A nice, peaceful sunset image!

Thank you @elizabeth. I think the bison are about as sharp as I could get with the SS and the lighting in this one.

@Ed_Williams I didn’t think about the shutter speed. I was wondering if focus stacking would have helped, but maybe not.

I think you’re right @elizabeth, either, and/or focus stacking or exposure bracketing would probably have helped with this one. Thanks for the suggestions.

A cool landscape, I would have swapped more clouds for some of the foreground.

Thank you @JRajput. I was trying to keep the light on the hillside behind the scene and the light on the cottonwoods along the river in the BG on this one. It just felt like it had a better balance that way.
