Robert, I like the leaves and the colors. I’m not as fond of the light streaks of running water. Here they’re all on the right side, which creates a sense of unbalance. They’re also distracting because they grab your attention but there’s nothing to see when you look at them. I’ve run into the same issue when photographing streams.
Thanks. Would you suggest a recomposition in which the light streaks are more balanced or eliminated completely showing only the leaves? I intended the streaks of water to add some level of mystery or etherealness to the image.
I’ve gotten to where I avoid reflections like that when I see them, or else polarize them away if I haven’t forgotten the filter. I think it would be an interesting shot with just the leaves.
But my reactions are just mine. Others may have a different take.
I like the lines of the needles in the image contrasting with the more static nature of the leaves. The water flowing through gives a nice sense of movement. A really nice composition and use of color.
