Late Light, Grand Canyon

There were some clouds higher in the sky blocking direct sun to the camera, which let me take this later afternoon view of the Grand Canyon as a 2 shot composite with some nice crepuscular rays. One for the land with a second at -3EV for the sky. (5D3, 70-200@ 75, 1/40s & 1/320 s, f/9, iso 200, tripod)

Awesome image, Mark. Your exposure of the canyon is perfect. I like the fact that I have to give my eyes a minute to adjust to the shadows, but when I do there’s all kinds of detail in it. Very well executed. I am curious as to which of the images supplied the crepuscular rays-I’m guessing the canyon exposure? Did that cause some kind of transition issue?

Stunning, both the scene and the skill in processing difficult lighting.
