Sharp and Great Tone. Droplets works really nice in this image. B&W is perfect and I really like the contrast. !!!
@Antonello_Provenzale…a wonderful closeup scene here. Although the water droplets are a real plus in bringing attention to the main leaf it is the shape that caught my attention here. It looks like it’s mimicking a full tree. Almost a Christmas tree including the droplets as ornaments and the stem at the end topping it off. A really neat find…
Thank you Gill, Paul and Paul! Happy you liked the image. Those woods are a mine of beautiful little scenes… at less than 1 km from my house…
I love this!! A perfectly framed and very interesting subject with a gorgeous supporting cast. Tonalities and details are wonderful!! My only very tiny thought is to wonder about darkening the partial leaf in the LR corner.
Thank you Diane! And you are right on darkening the partial leaf - well spotted!
I am intrigued by the feeling of depth … looks like leaves are several inches deep, but I think that is an illusion created by your control of luminosity.
Thank you Dick! the layer of leaves was not flat, but not several inches… I would say about less than an inch or so - I think it is the luminosity and also the relatively large DOF that gives this impression…
Wow! Thank you Editors for “picking the leaves”! Very honoured!
Beautifully done, sir! I love how the water droplets are tiny lenses that magnify parts of the leaf. The leaf has a nice shape that contrasts with shapes of the other leaves.
At first blush I thought that the dark area to the left of the main leaf was lacking detail, but the large version does show some detail there.
The image has the full range of tones and gives a feel for the shade of the forest.
Congratulations on the Editor’s Pick!

One suggestion would be to try to bring out the veins of the main leaf in the manner of the leaf at bottom center left.
Thanks Preston and Igor for the comments and suggestions! Both appreciated!
