Awkward angle, but it works in this case, David. Not many species perch lengthwise. Until now I thought the behavior was confined to the Nighthawk family. Is this an Ani?

Excellent detail in a black bird without making it look washed out. Very good processing.

Well done! Great detail in those black feathers.

I totally spaced out the ID on this one. Yes it is a Groove Billed Ani. There is also a Smooth Billed Ani which we did not see.

unusual and interesting bird, with an odd pose.

well-done!

I got no nits with this one. Anis have long, floppy tails and the slight softness at the tail tip suggest that the tail is indeed quite long. Ii like this one. Well done…Jim

David: this is a great example of less is more. I love the simplicity and graphic nature of this photo and it deserves a prominent place on your wall. Congrats! Richard
