The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.
Description
I was able to photograph this roller as it sat at the top of a small shrub. The background was unusual with a light central area bounded by a dark peripery.
Specific Feedback
I added a vignette to the already darker periphery to further darken it as I think that it makes the bird prominent in the photo. What do you think?
Technical Details
SS 1/320, f/8 and auto ISO at 1600. Cropped to about 80% of original size.

Ah, my favorite African bird! I made my husband stop the truck for every single one of them, since they were all in different trees and bushes.
This is excellent - the light on the bird and bush is perfect, and offset well by the darker right areas.
I also like the crop, with plenty of room for a lot of the bush.
Another excellent image!
Very nice, Richard. Beautiful light on the Roller and I like the darker right hand side, but to me it feel like there’s more of it than necessary to set off the bird. If you’re not wedded to the 2x3 aspect ratio, I’d be tempted to take about half of that right side off and maybe just a bit off the top (I’d have to see what it looks like to be sure). Great use of light.
Sandy and Dennis: thanks for taking the time to look and comment. Dennis: I like your idea of a tighter crop as it places even more emphasis on the bird.
Allen, Allen and Dennis: thanks for your comments. I should keep a suggestion in mind from an old friend who was an AP photographer, which is “every photo deserves a good crop.” This of course only applied to his personal work.
I love rollers haven’t gotten a good picture of one yet though. what wonderful colors on him and great background. for and 80% crop still lots of detail and sharp in the eye.
