Took this several days ago before the heat became as intense as it has been in the Pacific Northwest. It’s going to get really hot in some places over the next few days with temperatures approaching 100°F. Further south of me in Portland it could reach much higher. Hope you can all stay cool!

What a beauty! I heard some today, but did not lay eyes on any. The are so full of character and change. Great background and perch. I might have used a small radial filter to perk up the exposure around the eye just a little. Looks like you have a catchlight there.
Nice look at the goldfinch. To me, he looks a bit forlorn-maybe the heat.
Well done, here. I have a lot of Goldfinches hanging around, but never seem to get a good photo of one. Good details, perch, and background. Hope you weather the heat well. We finally got a break here. A front moved through yesterday, dropping the temp from 107 degrees to 78, plus 2 inches of rain and more on the way.
