Karl: Explosively good!!! I would expect this was totally unexpected but what a spectacular result . Most excellent.>=))>
PS: Did you zoom while exposing as well?
I like the looks of this image, Karl, though I am a bit surprised at the perfect symmetry. It has the look of one of those images that’s duplicated and flipped horizontally and I wouldn’t have expected that from in-camera motion. Regardless, the “explosive” look is really cool.
The symmetry is pretty amazing, it looks like a Rorschach inkblot test.
The movement is physical when I look at this, I feel like I’m actually moving. Not sure I’ve ever experienced that in an image except for those find the sail boat in all these dots things, where I can never find the sail boat.
I think it is fantastic just as you have it. I just wonder if there’s a bit more room for a touch of contrast or clarity in the middle. Not necessary at all, it just looks like there’s some detail there that might be interesting to see a tiny bit more. I mean, the motion takes your eye right there, so it isn’t like the viewer isn’t seeing it, but maybee there’s room for a bit extra. Not too much, just a little.
But it doesn’t matter because it is also just fine how it is!
Nice ICM work!
I bet this was fun to make, Karl. It feels like it’s zoom motion too? Not just rotation? I reminds me of a an album cover from the 70s, but I couldn’t remember which one. Maybe Santana? Not really that similar, but a comparably groovy effect.
First - this is simply a changing zoom during exposure
Second - As Dennis points out - a flip of the image - there is some truth to this but only to fill gaps - the ultimate goal being to have a pleasing wall paper so to speak
