I love the red reflections in the water, David. It’s probably just me, but I could see taking a bit off both the top and bottom for a slightly slimmer composition. It just feels like there’s more space in that direction than the horizontal composition of the subjects warrants.

Great light on top, David, so I wouldn’t want any off the top, though could see a slight crop from below, but I like this as presented as well. There’s a sense of serenity in the image and a feeling of being out there on a cool, sunny morning.

@Dennis_Plank and @Allen_Brooks thanks for the comments and suggestions. It’s sometimes hard to determine the vertical crop for birds on the water. I did crop some, mostly from the bottom, but a tad from the top too. Posted a rework above.

Thanks again.

A lovely catch! I love the red reflection and think the RP is excellent. I don’t know your software but I wonder about bringing up the darkest shadows just a bit?

David- exceptional soft light that makes the ducks just glow. Perfect poses and reflections. Mallards may be common, but they are still a beautiful duck
Very nice catch! Not a nit from me-

@Diane_Miller amd @SandyR-B thank you for the kind comments.

Diane, I raised the blacks just a tad…still looks darker in the JPG than on my monitor…any better?

Yes, better! Recovering darks is difficult enough but it’s frustrating when things don’t look the same here as the original JPEG. I should start paying attention to mine.
