Marsh Wren

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

A case where half a loaf is better than none. These wrens tend to stay hidden, so even getting half the bird is nice and I like the environmental aspect of the image and getting the wren in a singing pose with the tongue showing.

Specific Feedback

Any thoughts appreciated.

Lots of people probably won’t like this Allen, but I’ve always been a big fan of half hidden birds and the singing pose and detail in the bird make this one definitely worthwhile. I might be tempted to remove the stems on the left.

Hi Allen, really nice singing pose you captured. Love seeing the tongue so well. Good critical focus on the bird past the reeds. I like the image.
