Very nice behavioral image Glenn. Nice colors and good clarity and depth (DOF) on the BFs. The setting is a bit busy, so I would be tempted to clean up a few of the bits of leaves sticking into the frame from the upper left corner (ULC).

Glenn, first of all, a big welcome. Butterfly fanciers are especially welcome to me! Your couple haven’t quite tied the knot here. Perhaps they were about to, or had just finished? (Or were they feeding?). But it’s a very interesting shot, and you did well to freeze the wings. Normal Monarch shots are two a penny, so it’s good to get an original and unusual look like this. I agree with Ed about cleaning up a bit (maybe crop a bit off the left side). Well done!

Glenn: I like the action and the colors. A slight crop from the left might help a bit. In the large version there is quite a bit of noise. Not sure that’s from the crop or if you just need to apply some noise reduction. Great to have you aboard and looking forward to more. >=))>

Thanks for the feedback, new version with tighter crop and some noise reduction. Mike, you are correct, this was one of the first shots before the main event. Later shots aren’t as clean.

Welcome, Glenn. A nice find. I really like the repost-good job on the cleanup and the crop, though you might want to give that top wing a bit more clearance from the edge of the image. I suspect you’d end up having to clone out a couple of intruding leaf tips, but I think the extra room would be worth it.

Not sure how I missed seeing this nice image until now. I too like the crop in your repost. Now it is all about the butterflies.
