I thought I would try posting something a little different. Eagles sit in large cotton woods on the farm side of the dike while ducks and others feed on the other side. The eagle jumped off the perch and swooped down on the ducks with a pretty big head start as far as speed was concerned. All the birds scattered as the eagle zeroed in on the target. Slowly but surely the Pintail got up to speed and pulled away to live another day.

R5, 500mm + 1.4, f/5.6, 1/1600, ISO 1600 Full frame other than a slight relevelling. I cleaned up the edges a bit and removed a small mound like island.
This is a very cool image. It tells a dramatic story. Love the inclusion of pintails at the top. The only suggestion I have is moving the eagle and pintail are further to the right.
Agreed that this is a great story, also with adding canvas to left (as you should probably keep all those fleeing birds) . But if that is impossible, it still shows bird behaviour in reaction to raptors which is seldom caught like this , while at the same time having your two main actors sharply in the spotlight. Well done, Pintail!
Wonderfully different – tells a great story, well captured with a very pleasing environment! Getting the Eagle and Pintail toward the left of the frame would have been nice but the slight awkwardness of missing that moment actually works to give the image a more authentic photojournalistic feel.
