Description

After the storm from the tail end of a North American hurricane a couple of weeks ago. The genuinely vibrant hues of ochre and gold are from the tannins that have leached from the moorland heather above and traveled through the peat streams and subsequently discharged on to Mellon Udrigles fine white sand beach in Scotland and thence to the sea. The pale rocks lay embedded within Mellon’s beach and I saw this arrangement with the lovely scalloped shaped platelets of sand surrounding puctuated by green sea weed. Needless to say the colour fascinated me and kept me enthralled for a good couple of hours.

I really like the way you composed this, Ian. I am captivated by the coloration provided by the tannin and the story of how it got there. Very interesting.

I do have some suggestions. You might consider cloning those three dark blobs near the top and another bit on the right edge near the middle. You might also consider doing some treatment to that very bright highlight just to right of the larger stone. Those three bits catch my eye.

Color an saturation look really good to me. Nicely done image and well seen.

I got a kick out of your title. Those two in the middle made me think of zucchini.

That’s some really rich color. Thanks for the details on how it occurs. I think it works well here. I also like the way the rocks curve through the image to the urc.
