The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.
Description
This was taken at Bolsa Chica Preserve along the Southern California Coast. This little flock of mergansers were working together to catch fish.
Specific Feedback
Does the crop work to show the cooperative operation going on here? Is this aesthetically interesting with the late evening light and the birds spread out? Thanks for looking and for any comments you would like to provide.
Technical Details

A nice grouping of Merganzer. They are amazing birds to watch, especially when they feed. I’m very fortunate to live near the water and able to see a flock of 30 or 40 of these in my neighborhood every year. When they fish, they almost do so in unison. It’s a spectacle.
Hi Ed. I like the grouping and that you got the nearest bird in sharp focus. The cooperative feeding behavior doesn’t really come across to me, but the title clarifies it. Some images need a clarifying title. There seems to be a lot of color noise in the water that should be pretty easy to eliminate.
A nice flotilla of mergansers and the wakes add to the sense of motion. Maybe see how it looks bringing up the shadows or slightly brighter? The leading one seems to have caught the rays of the sunrise.
