This collection of lines and shapes in the ice on my pond made me think of my grandfather milking his cow, leaning his head against the cow’s flank.

I read the title, and it took me a few seconds to see the image (I saw a milkmaid) - but then I read your description, and the head on flank completed the scene. A fun shot, Mark. It looks like he’s getting some pretty fizzy milk!
Had you not mentioned it, I never would have seen it. It took a moment, but once I saw it I could not un-see it.
