More of the Siskin Mob

I counted these in groups of 100 putting colored dots on another layer so I could figure out about how many there were, so this is the image my wife put in the bird log.

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

I went out to feed the birds this morning and saw that a large group of Siskins was in our lone birch tree, so I grabbed my camera in hopes they’d be somewhat cooperative, which they surprisingly were. In playing with this image, I thought it might make a good stark black and white, but didn’t much care for the look of it that way. However, inverting it, I liked it. Just for fun I added the image where I tried to count them. I’m sure I missed some that were completely hidden behind a group.

Specific Feedback

Does the white on black work for you?

Dennis, I like your vision for something different, and I think this works well.
I’m not sure where the red, yellow, and green dots on each bird came from, though.
Totalyl B&W might present better.
Very cool, though!

Certainly an interesting and artistic take. Looks like an infrared shot.

Hi Dennis
Very interesting photograph. I like it.

Cool image Dennis. That’s a lot of siskins! I like the inverted look - quite surreal and interesting.
